It’s true pensions, unions and benefits are unsustainable now but it was an economic catalyst in the past. They weren’t doing anything unsustainable unions had power and benefits kept unions happy. Today it’s a race to the bottom for survival and it is assumed to be sustainable. Except of course when we all hit bottom.
